Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 27 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and a high-level delegation arrived in Cambodia safe on Tuesday night (Feb. 27) after concluding a successful one-day official visit to Malaysia at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim held an official welcoming ceremony for the arrival of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet in Malaysia.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and his Malaysian counterpart Anwar Ibrahim held a bilateral meeting to discuss diverse dimensions of cooperation, including political-security, trade and investment, tourism, labour, halal food industry, ICT and digital technology, and energy security, aligning with reciprocal interest of both nations.

During the visit, Samdech Thipadei was granted a Royal Audience by Malaysian King Yang Di-Pertuan Agong XVII Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar at the Istana Negara. Samdech Thipadei also held meetings with President of the Senate YB Senator Datuk Mutang Tagal, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives Tan Sri Dato' Dr. Johari bin Abdul at the Parliament building.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and his Malaysian counterpart Anwar Ibrahim also presided over the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between National Bank of Cambodia and Bank Negara Malaysia on Cooperation in Area of Financial Innovation and Payment Systems. During the visit, Samdech Thipadei attended the Cambodia-Malaysia Business Forum, where he delivered a keynote address and witnessed the signing of two MoUs covering trade cooperation between the Chambers of Commerce of two countries.

The official visit of Samdech Thipadei to Malaysia contributed to further deepen the long-standing ties between Cambodia and Malaysia in bilateral and multilateral frameworks for the best interests of the two countries and the region.
