Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 28 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Chief Executive Officer of Jones Group International General Jim Jones expressed optimism and hoped for improved business situation between Cambodia and the United States following the candid meeting.

The premier received a courtesy call by CEO of Jones Group International on Wednesday (Feb. 28) at the Peace Palace.

During the meeting, the CEO thanked Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet for allowing him and his delegation to pay a courtesy call. In addition, he also praised and appreciate the progress and development of Cambodia in multiple sectors.

The CEO of Jones Group International briefed the premier his main objective to Cambodia is to meet with partners and stakeholders to promote the connection between the private sector of the two countries.

Jim Jones hoped and was optimistic in promoting and transforming the private sector relations of the two countries into practical activities and fruitful outcomes. He reaffirmed his commitment to further promote Cambodia-US private sector relations.

For his part, Premier Hun Manet welcomed CEO of Jones Group International and his delegation. Samdech Thipadei also praised the good relations between Cambodia and the US in the framework of the relationship between the Royal Government of Cambodia and the US Government as well as the relationship between the private sector of the two countries.

Samdech Thipadei also highlighted the Royal Government's policy to support private sector investment in Cambodia by giving investors confidence through offering a favorable investment environment and maintain peace, political stability and social order, and especially with the incentives policy for investors and the launch of new business model initiatives such as new models of special economic zones by type of industry and requirement of each country.

Lastly, Premier Hun Manet said that the Royal Government always welcome the participation of the private sector, as Cambodia considered that the private sector played a crucial role in building socio-economic development, adding that it acts as a diplomat of public-private partnership and helps spread the truth about Cambodia.

On the occasion, the premier also encouraged the CEO to continue to cooperate with the ministries, institutions and stakeholders in Cambodia to set out and plan to implement practical activities to improve relations as well as investment with private sector in Cambodia.
