Siem Reap (FN), Mar. 16 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet advised to have a performance of drum dance or Chhay Yam dance to welcome tourists at capital-provincial airports.

The premier spoke on Saturday (Mar. 16) at the opening ceremony of the 8th River Festival in Siem Reap Province.

Samdech Thipadei stated, “During the upcoming New Year, I suggested to [Minister] Sok Soken to arrange a welcome song at airports as a special souvenir upon guest arrival in Cambodia. This initiative should extend beyond Siem Reap to encompass all provinces, including Phnom Penh.”

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei encouraged the arrangement of Chhay Yam dance.

Premier Hun Manet underscored the importance of airport greetings, highlighting their capacity to sway visitors' plans, whether it's extending a one-day trip to five days or condensing a five-day itinerary into one.

At the same time, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet underlined the establishment of a new committee chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Neth Savoeun to oversee security and hospitality operations at all airports, aiming to enhance their efficiency and service quality.
