Siem Reap (FN), Mar. 16 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet agreed to host annual events in various tourist destinations to boost tourism.

The premier spoke on Saturday (Mar. 16) at the opening ceremony of the 8th River Festival in Siem Reap Province.

"A few days ago, I agreed with the initiative of Senior Minister Thong Khon to host annual events in Siem Reap and other tourist destinations, alongside regular sporting and cultural events annually," the premier underscored.

Samdech Thipadei continued that this initiative is crucial because during interactions with citizens in the tourism sector, they consistently requested advanced notice of upcoming events to prepare tour packages and attract tourists.

On the occasion, the premier added that Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) is significant in economic development as the Royal Government negotiates to facilitate open doors. However, both public and private sectors must collaborate to ensure a substantial flow of people in and out. Notably, the Royal Government has negotiated flight connections with other countries and destinations to facilitate this effort.
