Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 21 – Once again, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet reiterated the commitment of the Royal Government to ensure that no disabled person is left behind.

The premier spoke on Thursday (Mar. 21) during the inaugurations of Techo Sen National Centre of Disabled Persons and the National Paralympic Committee of Cambodia in Phnom Penh.

Samdech Techo and the Royal Government have continuously paid attention to their needs and stand by them, the premier added.

Samdech Thipadei underscored, "The Royal Government does not abandon any person with disability. I urge the national and international communities to collaborate further to realize the Sustainable Development Goals on Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), uphold the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), and implement the Incheon Strategy to ensure genuine rights for individuals with disabilities and foster a community environment of inclusivity and harmony, adhering to the principle that 'no one is left behind’.”

Promoting the right to life of PWDs is crucial to ensuring their equal rights in various aspects of life, including education, healthcare, access to justice, and full participation in social, religious, sports, artistic, and political activities. Prime Minister Hun Manet also commended the para-athletes who have diligently represented the nation and achieved success in various sports events.

On that occasion, Samdech Thipadei announced a distribution of 200 million Riels in the first year to support the Centre and a commitment to continue providing 800 million Riels for the next three years to support the Techo Sen Disabled Sports Fund in its efforts to enhance the Techo Sen National Centre of Disabled Persons.
