Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 10 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that achievements and progress in the field of water resources and meteorology will not be possible without complete peace, political stability and social security.

The premier spoke on Wednesday (Apr. 10) during the closing of 2023 annual meeting of Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.

"Achievements and progress in the field of water resources and meteorology will not be possible if Cambodia does not have complete peace, political stability and social security," the premier underlined.

Samdech Thipadei continued, “Cambodia endured significant turmoil from war, yet in the past 25 years, it has triumphed in securing enduring peace and national unity under the leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, former Prime Minister and current President of the Senate, through his Win-Win Policy."

The Royal Government of Cambodia has successfully implemented the Triangle and Rectangular Strategy in four phases, yielding remarkable achievements spanning politics, society, and the economy. These accomplishments have not only transformed Cambodia's landscape but have also earned it a proud and distinguished reputation regionally and on the global stage.

Premier Hun Manet added that based on past experience, the Royal Government of the 7th legislature of the National Assembly has launched the first phase of the Pentagonal strategy for job growth, equity, efficiency and sustainability by setting five key priorities: people, road, water, electricity and technology.

On the occasion, the premier underscored that the introduction of this sharp strategy has enabled the Royal Government to sustain a robust trajectory of security, peace, growth, and economic productivity. Moreover, it has facilitated the continuous momentum of national development in response to the challenges posed by the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Efforts have been dedicated to fortifying resilience across public, economic, financial, social, and environmental sectors, including water resources and meteorology. These endeavours are aimed at realizing Cambodia's vision of becoming a high middle-income country by 2030 and transitioning into a high-income country by 2050, the premier added.
