Takeo (FN), Apr. 11 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet reiterated the Royal Government’s concerted efforts in helping to solve conflicts between Borey owners and their buyers, and urged people to trust the government.

The premier spoke on Thursday (Apr. 11) during an inauguration of Kirisu Dairy Farm in Takeo province.

“The Royal Government is deeply concerned about the hardships faced by its people. Under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Say Sam Al, who also serves as the Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction, the Ministry has been diligently engaging with Borey developers and their buyers on a daily basis," Samdech Thipadei underscored.

On occasion, Samdech Thipadei acknowledged the setback in the housing market caused by the COVID19 pandemic. However, he affirmed that the Royal Government is actively addressing the issue through a systematic approach, although there are some delays.

The premier also underlined the need to preserve existing assets rather than resorting to drastic measures, likening it to nurturing hens for continued productivity, whether through breeding or utilising their eggs for various purposes.

Prime Minister Hun Manet urged the people to place their trust in the Royal Government's unwavering commitment to resolving their concerns. He underscored the importance of fostering a balanced approach that enables development companies to sustain operations and fulfil their obligations to deliver homes to their customers.

Meanwhile, the premier took personal interest in addressing the housing estate issues faced by the people, issuing directives to Minister Say Sam Al, and the National Bank of Cambodia to devise solutions aimed at alleviating risk pressures. Furthermore, consultations were conducted with the banking sector to explore avenues for providing capital to support the housing sector in fulfilling project commitments to customers.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet acknowledged the global economic downturn's impact, noting some foreign companies' closures. Yet, he expressed confidence in the real estate sector's future growth, with some housing companies already resuming projects. He highlighted ongoing international real estate developments in Cambodia, reaffirming their resilience. He urged people to trust the Royal Government's solutions.
