Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 23 – Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, also Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi departed Cambodia on Tuesday (Apr. 23) after concluding a fruitful visit from 21 to 23 April 2024.

During the visit, Wang Yi was granted a royal audience by Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, at the Royal Palace. He also paid separate courtesy calls on President of the Senate Samdech Techo Hun Sen, and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet.

Wang Yi also co-chaired with First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia Sun Chanthol, the Seventh Cambodia-China Intergovernmental Coordination Committee Meeting. He also held bilateral talks with Foreign Minister Sok Chenda Sophea, to exchange views on further consolidating close and excellent bilateral ties spanning wide-ranging areas.

The visit coincided with the Cambodia-China People-to-People Exchange Year and will contribute to further strengthening the ironclad friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation, deepening the building of a high-quality, high-level and high-standard Community with a Shared Future, promoting the Diamond Cooperation framework, and stimulating collaboration across regional and international platforms, thus mutually benefiting the two nations and peoples."
