Phnom Penh (FN), July 23 - Cambodia Airways, Cambodia’s newest boutique airline, celebrated the start of its new direct non-stop service, linking the nation’s capital, Phnom Penh to Macau. The inaugural service, KR511, was operated on 22 June 2018.
The maiden flight departed from Phnom Penh International Airport at 10:25 am (local time) and landed in Macau at 14:05 am (local time). The return flight, KR512, departed Macau International at 21:40 pm (local) and arrived in Phnom Penh at 23:35 pm (local time) on June 22nd.
The inaugural flight marks the commencement of a direct service, flying four times per week using a 150-seat Airbus A319 in a one-class configuration. The new flights will operate every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday between Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH) and Macau International Airport (MFM) by Cambodia Airways.
Macau is a great starting point for Cambodia Airways, given the strong demand from both markets for direct, full-service operations. Regular service to Macau follows on the heels of high-level discussions between the region and Cambodia leaders. We will further boost traffic to and from Cambodia and strengthen the bilateral relations between the two destinations.
Based at Phnom Penh International Airport, Cambodia Airways is dedicated to contributing to Cambodia’s economic development while building an extensive network base to destinations in Asia. Future plans include launching service to Korea, Japan, mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Cambodia Airways also has plans to connect to destinations in Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines.
