Phnom Penh (FN), July 27 - Secretary General of the National Election Committee Tep Nytha confirmed in a press conference on Friday that Embassy of Japan in Phnom Penh has sent nine special guests to observe Cambodian general election 2018 to be held for only one day on Sunday 29 July.

NEC has received 12 special guests - two are from Musaji Co., Ltd. of Japan to review the ballot boxes, one from India to review Indian indelible ink, and the other nine from the Japanese embassy.

NEC decided to allow special guests to observe the sixth mandate National Assembly election this July 29, according to the NEC's decision on July 11.

NEC defines “special guest” as a foreign delegation not under the observer status to observe Cambodian election.

According to the NEC, special guest who would like to observe the election shall inform the NEC or Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Cambodia will hold her general election on 29 July 2018.
