Phnom Penh (FN), July 27 - Sergey Ordzhonikidze, Deputy General Director of the Russian Federation's Civil Society, expressed the hope that the forthcoming election of the 6th National Assembly 2018 will be conducted fairly and justly, recognized by international and national observers.

The statement was made at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Kem Roat Viseth, Chairman of the Board of Civil Society Alliance Forum of Cambodia at the Hotel Cambodiana, Phnom Penh.

"I wish for the upcoming election in Cambodia to be conducted fairly and accurately with the recognitions of the stakeholders," he said.

The MoU reflected cooperation, mutual understanding between the two nations, and exchanges on culture and economics for the interests of the two nations.

In response, Kem Roat Viseth thanked Russia for sending its observers to attend the election of the sixth mandate Cambodian Election 2018.

The chairman said that many Cambodian intellectuals, who are playing important roles in the government in the field of civil society are trained in Russia and hope to bring those knowledge back to Cambodia.

He thanked Russia for the support to Cambodia through aid during the kingdom's rough time.
