Phnom Penh (FN), May 9 – Cambodia and France plan to celebrate this year a series of historical events of the two countries relationship in view of bring it to further improvement.
The two major historical events the two countries are planning to celebrate are the 50th anniversary of the visit to Cambodia by France’s former president Charles de Gaulle and the 25th anniversary of the Paris Peace Accord.
The plan for celebrating the historical events was brought into discussions between Senior Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhon and France’s Ambassador Jean- Claude Poimboeuff in the afternoon of May 9, 2016.
Secretary of State for Freign Affairs and International Cooperation Ouch Borith told the press celebration of the historical events will be held in Cambodia in 2016 but the dates have yet been set since the two countries’ working groups are still in process of further discussions.
