Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 6 - Prime Minister Hun Sen announced that the first session of National Assembly and the new government may be held at the end of August if complaints from political parties are settled.

The premier's announcement was made Monday morning receiving courtesy call on athletes and trainers before departing to the 18th Asian Games.

“The initial plan was that the first session of parliament will be held on the morning of 19th September, and the oath will be taken same day in the evening [...] the morning of 20th, the new government will be established and the oath will be taken same day in the evening. The first cabinet meeting will be on 21 September,” said Prime Minister Hun Sen.

He highlighted that if everything goes as planed, he will deliver a statement at the United Nations.

The premier wishes to establish a new government this August. He also plans to attend meetings in Europe and the United Nations in New York in September in response to the claim made by opposition that the premier will be arrested if he steps in Europe or in the United States. In addition, he also wants to visit some countries on behalf of prime minister of the new government.

He informed that head of the new government, the council of ministers, and the political programs - Rectangular Strategy Phase IV - have all been prepared.
