LOS ANGELES, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Residents of Los Angeles in the U.S. state of California felt a strong earthquake on Tuesday evening.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred at 7:33 p.m. (01:33 GMT Wednesday) and was measured as 4.4 magnitude on the Richter scale.
