TOKYO, Sept. 21 (CGTN) -- Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and US President Donald Trump will hold a summit meeting on September 26, Japan's top government spokesman confirmed on Friday.

Their meeting will be held on the sidelines of Abe's visit to New York to attend the 73rd United Nations General Assembly. Chief cabinet secretary Yoshihide Suga also said the two leaders would also have dinner together on September 23.

The White House announced on Thursday that Trump has so far been confirmed to participate in bilateral meetings with Republic of Korea (ROK) President Moon Jae-in, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, French President Emmanuel Macron, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and British Prime Minister Theresa May.
