LAOS (FN), May 30 – Defense Minister of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic proposed to his Cambodian counterpart to enhance cooperation along the border between the two countries Cambodia-Laos with a view to creating a border of peace, cooperation and development, according to the website of Cambodia’s Ministry of Defense today, May 30, 2016.
The proposal was made during a bilateral meeting between Cambodian and Laotian ministers of defense on May 27, 2016 during which the Laotian minister also suggested the two armies of the two countries continue to assist the border demarcation committees of the two countries.
Cambodia’s Minister of Defense, Senior Gen. Tea Banh, accepted his Laotian counterpart’s proposal and encouraged the border troops of the two countries to meet and solve problems along the border effectively and efficiently so that people of the two countries along the border would enjoy peace and security in their daily living and doing businesses safely.
During the meeting, Senior Gen. Tea Banh and his Laotian counterpart, Lt. Gen. Chansmone Chanyalat, also presided over the signing ceremony of cooperation protocols between the two countries’ ministries of defense.
