PHNOM PENH, Sept. 5 (FN) — Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen flew to Vientiane, capital of Laos, on Monday for ASEAN summits and related meetings, to be held from Sept. 6 to 8, a senior official said.

Hun Sen will attend the 28th and 29th ASEAN Summits, the 19th ASEAN-China Summit, the 19th ASEAN Plus Three (China, South Korea and Japan) Summit, and the 11th East Asia Summit among others, said Sry Thamarong, minister attached to the prime minister.

"The ASEAN leaders will focus their discussion on the implementation of the ASEAN Community Vision 2025," he told reporters before the departure.

"They will also discuss ways to strengthen the ASEAN's central role and to maintain peace and stability in the region," he said.

Besides, the ASEAN leaders and the leaders of the ASEAN Dialogue Partners will touch on the issues related to security in the region, terrorism, human trafficking, migrant workers, cross-border crimes, epidemics, climate change, and natural disasters.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
