Phnom Penh (FN), Jan 17 – Cambodia’s construction sector has developed substantially, providing some 200,000 job opportunities for Cambodian people.
“In Phnom Penh, we have 140,000 to 150,000 construction workers”, said Huy Nara, Director General of the Department of Construction.
“The unskilled workers receive $120-200 monthly while skilled workers $300-450. For the engineers and architects, they get from $350 to $2,500”, he added.
There were 2,636 projects nationwide, covering 14 million square meters of land in 2016 and that the number of construction worker increased by 33% compared to 2015, according to the report released Tuesday morning by the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction.
