Phnom Penh (FN), Feb 4 – Myanmar's President U Htin Kyaw congratulated Cambodia’s economic growth and other sector’s development, while requested leadership experience from Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, according to the premier’s spokesman Eang Sophalleth.
The praise was made during a meeting between PM Hun Sen and President U Htin Kyaw on Saturday morning at the Peace Palace, Cambodia.
President U Htin Kyaw told the premier that he has just taken the office over a year and therefore required leadership experience from the premier.
Both heads of state discussed on diplomacy, education, trade, and tourism, according to the premier’s spokesman.
Both sides want to promote tourism package to visit Angkor Wat, one of the world’s wonders and Bagan, an ancient city located in the Mandalay Region of Myanmar; promote student’s exchange program and scholarship; and strengthen relation between Cambodia-Myanmar in the framework of ACMECS, CLMV, Mekong, and ASEAN.
The premier also requested President U Htin Kyaw to attend ASEAN World Economic Forum to be hosted by Cambodia this upcoming May 2017.
The Burmese president and his wife will visit Angkor Wat this Saturday afternoon, and will return to Myanmar on Feb. 06, 2017.
