Phnom Penh (FN), Feb 6 - There will be no Angkor Wat replica built in Bihar as confirmed by the Indian side, according to Deputy Prime Minister Hor Namhong.
The confirmation was made during the meeting between Ramnath Kovind, Governor of Bihar, India and DPM Hor Namhong Monday afternoon.
Cambodia used to asked India to "completely stop" a private trust's plans to build a 'replica' of the world's largest Hindu temple Angkor Wat in Bihar, saying it would affect the country's prestige.
Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and former Foreign Minister said that India prohibited the company from building this replica.
"After the fall of Khmer Rogue Regime, only India volunteered to help repair Angkor Wat," said Hor Namhong adding that India also helped repairing Ta Prom Temple Phase II and Gate VI of Preah Vihear Temple.
China, on the other hand, helped repairing Gate I,II,and III.
