Phnom Penh (FN), Feb 15 – Prime Minister Hun Sen presided over the Cambodian International Business Summit (CIBS), held Feb. 14-15, 2017 at the Intercontinental Hotel with the participation from relevant ministries and institutions.

“CIBS has become the most significant platform to promote Cambodia’s economy and trade. Even in rapidly changing world economics and political situations, Cambodia still achieved economic growth of 7%”, stated the Prime Minister.

He also suggested that international businesses consider investing in Cambodia. He emphasized ASEAN’s solidarity unlike the European Union (EU) and the circumstances which led to Brexit.

Kit Meng, Chairman of The Royal Group, told the premier that WING, a widely-used money transfer and payment service in Cambodia, will not charge any service fee from citizens to pay for electricity bills below $25. The premier responded that this is a major contribution to improving living standards.
