BANGKOK, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- A collision between a car and a train killed one and injured three in southern Thailand, local media reported Monday.
According to Bangkok Post, the accident happened Sunday night when a car was hit by a train at a railway crossing in the southern province of Surat Thani, claiming one life and injuring the other three in the car.
Local reports said the train heading to Bangkok was only slightly damaged but the car was totally crashed out. The car driver died in hospital.
Reports say there are no traffic barriers in the crossing where the accident happened.
Thailand has the world's second-most dangerous roads in terms of per-capita deaths.
The World Health Organization estimates about 24,000 people die each year in road traffic accidents in Thailand.
