PHNOM PENH (FN), Jan. 12 —Federation of Cambodian Rice Exporters has set a new plan to export one million tons of milled rice in the next 5 years.
At the press conference on the organization of the 5th Cambodia Rice Forum, Sok Puthivuth, chairman of Federation of Cambodian Rice Exporters said Cambodia will be able to export one million tons of milled rice by 2021, citing in 2015, more than half a million tons were already exported.
On April 17, 2010, Cambodia formulated a policy to promote rice productivity and set to export one million tons of milled rice in 2015, but only half of which was reached, though it was increased by 39% compared to 2014 with 380,000 tons.
