PHNOM PENH (FN), Jan. 13 — In another swift change within days, the Cambodian government decided today to take back full control over National Road 4 from the road toll operator.
Following his address this morning to the National Assembly, Prime Minister Hun Sen posted a message on his official Facebook page over lunch time that travelers on National Road 4 would not have to pay toll fees anymore.
“The Royal Government of Cambodia decided to take back the management of the National Road 4 from now on, and so, people living along the road and users all across the country are no longer subject to toll fees payment,” the premier wrote.
Explaining that he came up with the decision after he received a lot of complaints via his Facebook from users especially those living along the national road over how difficult it is for them and that after he discussed with Minister of Economy and Finance and Minister of Public Works and Transports during the National Assembly Session, the premier also thanked the people for getting him informed.
“I would like to thank all the people for providing truthful information and good comments through my Facebook page so that we can solve the problems altogether and work together to develop our country further,” he added.
