PHNOM PENH (FN), Jan. 18 — Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said Monday that he was now in a hospital in Singapore on a regular medical check and that there was nothing serious.
In a message posted on his Facebook page, the premier said he just followed doctor’s instructions that he had to have medical checkup every year, although he did not have any serious problem. He said it was also for the reason that he had had so much works to do between the end of 2015 and the beginning of 2016.
“...The fact that I am here to a hospital in Singapore does not suggest that I don’t trust Cambodian doctors. Actually I have had my health check monthly, quarterly and six-monthly with our Cambodian doctors,” he said.
“It is just recommended by Cambodian doctors that I should come overseas to double check for certain issues for which we do not have the adequate equipment. My Cambodian doctors have come with me and are working with the Singaporean doctors and that is normal, as far as medical cooperation is concerned.”
The premier said he was scheduled to return to Cambodia on Jan. 21, if allowed by the doctors.
