Phnom Penh (FN) Jan. 19 – The newly-appointed U.S. Ambassador to Cambodia said he would try to lure and mobilize as many more U.S. investors as possible to do business in Cambodia so that more jobs could be created for Cambodian people and that Cambodian-U.S. cooperation would also be promoted.
Addressing to about 800 teachers and students of Pursat High School last week, in the presence of Governor Mao Thonin and Keo Ratanak, Director General of Electricite du Cambodge (EDC), William A. Heidt said the U.S. was the largest market for Cambodia’s exports and that he would motivate more American investors to come and do businesses in Cambodia, especially in Pursat province, about 200km northwest of Phnom Penh.
“We will explain to the U.S. investors what the rules and regulations are and how to do business in Cambodia in view of motivating them to come and invest in the country,” said the Ambassador.
