PURSAT, Cambodia (FN), Jan. 20 — Five people were killed and 19 others injured when a bus crashed against a truck at mid-night of 19 Jan. on national road 5 in Pursat province, about 200km from Phom Penh, police said.
Chief of Krakor district police, Em Run, told the press in the morning of 20 Jan. that the accident that happened in Kbal Trach commune, Krakor district, killed five, of whom two were women, and injuring 19 with nine of them suffering serious injuries. All of the dead were passengers traveling in the bus and one of them died on the site, and among the injured, there were two Thais and two Vietnamese, he said.
A bus belonging to Rasmey Phnom Penh company was traveling west-bound from Phnom Penh when one of the rear tires blew off and then veered into the other lane crashing in full-force into a rice-transporting truck travelling in the opposite direction. Drivers of the two vehicles were also among the critical injured.
