Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 20 – European Union expressed appreciation to Cambodian Government’s efforts on major reforms and indicated its commitment to further strengthening cooperation with the Royal Government of Cambodia.
EU Ambassador to Cambodia, Mr. Christopher George Edgar, in a meeting with Cambodia’s Minister of Economy and Finance Dr. Aun Porn Moniroth on Jan. 20, praised the efforts made by the Royal Government of Cambodia on all reforms while proposing a number of improvement recommendations in view to especially achieving the Performance Assessment Framework.
Dr. Aun Porn Moniroth at the meeting, expressed thanks to EU for its support, good cooperation as well as active contribution to Cambodian development, with focus on education, social affairs, infrastructure, health, and particularly on Public Financial Management Reforms for 2016-2019 for which EU provided just recently a financial support of 21 million euro (23 million US$) in the form of Budget Support.
