PHNOM PENH (FN), Jan. 25 — Opposition party in California, United States of America, announced that there would be no demonstration against Prime Minister Hun Sen during his scheduled visit to the U.S. in February.
Supporting Committee for the Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) in Southern California issued the announcement after a message was posted on a Facebook earlier on Jan. 25 that CNRP supporters in the United States are planning to hold a demonstration against Prime Minister Hun Sen when he pays a visit to the U.S. in February for the special U.S.-ASEAN summit. In response to that the premier said similar demonstration could be held also in Cambodia against the opposition leaders.
In the meantime, CNRP Steering Committee is scheduled to hold an urgent meeting later on Jan. 25 under the chairmanship of Acting CNRP president, Kem Sokha, to announce that they are not supportive of the anti-Hun Sen demonstration.
