PHNOM PENH (FN), Jan. 25 — With an average increase of between 10,000 and 20,000 per day, the number of Facebook users who have accessed Prime Minister Hun Sen’s page has increased approximately 100 percent within over five months.

As of 6:50 pm of Jan. 25, the total number of Facebook users who have accessed the premier’s page reached 2,000,105 compared to 1 million users by August 22, 2015.

Prime Minister Hun Sen on Jan. 25 expressed thanks to his compatriots all around the country whom he said have had confidence in his leadership and have overwhelmingly entrusted him to lead the country’s development. It was a clear illustration of their support for and love of peace, the premier said.

“I use Facebook in addition to the existing system with a view of increasing effective handling of national issues and the people’s problems through gathering of information and ideas from all parts of the society that are addressed to the Prime Minister. I will also have the chance to respond directly to the people,” said the premier.
