PHNOM PENH (FN), Jan. 26 — U.S. Chief Diplomat told Cambodian opposition leaders on Jan. 26 in a meeting that the United States of America would like to see good relationship with Cambodia, according to opposition party’s spokesperson.
“We were exchanging views with each other and he wants to see good political environment in Cambodia as well as good relationship between the two countries,” said Yim Sovann, spokesperson for the National Rescue Party, after the meeting of the party leaders with visiting U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry at Raffles Le Royal Hotel.
CNRP’s Acting President, Kem Sokha, did not elaborate to the media after the meeting over the contents of the meeting and discussions with Kerry saying only that politics, elections and human rights issues were discussed.
