Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 27 – A senior trade official of the Thai Embassy in Cambodia estimated that Cambodia-Thai trade in 2015 increased to $5.5 billion, as a result of commitment by the two countries’ leaders to promotion of trade exchange.
Thai Commercial Consul General to Cambodia Mrs. Ghy Naran Vongmongkol told reporters in a Press Conference on Cambodia-Thai Trade Exhibition on Jan. 27 that over the past 11 months of 2015, Cambodia-Thai trade worth $5,106.51 million of which Cambodia exported to Thailand amounted to $592.36 million while Thailand exported to Cambodia amounted to $4,514.14 million. Thai products exported to Cambodia includes cassava, maize, rice, second-hand clothes, iron scraps, canned fish, etc.
Mrs. Ghy Naran Vongmongkol also stated that in order to promote Cambodian-Thai trade volume further, in line with the policies of the two governments, the Thai Commercial Consul General to Cambodia planned to hold many more trade fairs at both national and provincial levels.
