Kandal (FN), Mar. 13 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet appealed to sellers of whitening products to prioritise the health of consumers over their own success and cautioned against actions that could harm consumers.

The premier spoke on Wednesday (Mar. 13) during an inauguration ceremony of Techo Sen Koh Thom Hospital, Kandal Province.

Samdech Thipadei said, "To people who sell [whitening] products, please consider the health of consumers. […] If you do not help them, let's not harm them. Your products may be successful, but should also be responsible. And to the consumers, please prioritise health education.”

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei underlined an incident where a soldier was taken to the Emergency Room due to the use of skin whitening lotion.

At the same time, Samdech Thipadei urged consumers of lotions and weight loss products to exercise caution and appreciate the offerings of nature to avoid mishaps and prioritise health.
