Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 16 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation for the great and invaluable achievements and merits of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, speaking on Tuesday (Jul. 16) during the groundbreaking ceremony of the ECCC Resource Centre expansion at the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC).

Samdech Thipadei noted that the win-win policy is the foundation of lasting peace because it has eliminated racial, religious, and sectarian discrimination and empowered all Cambodians to live in harmony.

"I would like to take this rare opportunity to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation and always remember the great achievements and invaluable merits of the leadership, especially Samdech Techo Hun Sen, who liberated the country from the genocidal Pol Pot regime and brought peace, national unity, and territorial integrity in its 500-year history through the introduction of the win-win policy," the premier underscored.

The win-win policy is the cornerstone of long-term peacekeeping in Cambodia. By eliminating racial, religious, and sectarian discrimination, this policy has empowered all Cambodians, fostering harmony and unity within society, Samdech Thipadei added.

Prime Minister Hun Manet also thanked and commemorated the work, dedication, and legacy of Samdech Vibol Panha Sok An, who led the Royal Government of Cambodia's negotiating team with the United Nations to establish this hybrid tribunal as well as maintain sovereign sovereignty in leading and administering the judicial process.

On the occasion, the premier mentioned that through this win-win policy, the Royal Government has established the ECCC with the excellent cooperation of the United Nations and the financial support of the international community to provide justice to the victims of the Khmer Rouge regime, reconcile the divided society, eradicate the culture of impunity, and send a message to leaders around the world about the consequences of their atrocities.
