Phnom Penh (FN), September 5 - Cambodian Minister of Foreign Affairs Prak Sokhonn, and Saleumxay Kommasith, Foreign Minister of the Lao PDR, agreed to draft letter to submit to the French government.

The request aims to transfer the map scale from 1/100,000 to 1/50,000 and to provide required documents related to the Cambodia-Laos border.

The meeting was held on Tuesday in Phnom Penh

Both MoFs expressed their appreciation for the successful outcomes of the talks on border issues, as they reached reconciliation and mutual understanding.

The two sides agreed to settle the exact border between the two countries by going directly to the site.

The meeting between the Cambodian and Lao foreign ministers took place after Prime Minister Hun Sen had a bilateral discussion with Laotian Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh on Friday.

Cambodia shares 540 km border with Laos that requires 145 border marks. So far, 121 has been demarcated.
