Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 19 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet urged the Cambodian Red Cross youths to prioritize their education and contribute to the preservation and promotion of traditional culture and civilization.

The premier spoke on Saturday (Oct. 19) during his meeting with 4,742 Cambodian Red Cross Youth volunteers at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.

"Please continue to focus on your studies, contribute to promoting culture, civilization, and national traditions, and expand your knowledge by learning more about digital information technology and foreign languages, in line with market demands both in Cambodia and globally,” the premier underscored.

Samdech Thipadei also urged the youths to remember the motto, "Culture extinguished; the nation vanished. Culture flourished; the nation prospered."

On the occasion, Prime Minister Hun Manet also urged the Red Cross youth to work together to foster national unity, a love for culture, peace, and a sense of responsibility to protect the legitimate government.

Additionally, the premier stressed the importance of rejecting false information that can pollute society, especially in the current climate, where misinformation can cause social unrest, national division, and harm the future of the youth. He also advised the volunteers to think critically and research thoroughly before accepting information, and to be patriotic without becoming extreme.

Samdech Thipadei encouraged young people to promote positive thinking. He advised them not to focus on those who seek to harm or undermine them, but instead to strengthen their capabilities, unity, productivity, and creativity, and to share their achievements with others.
