PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (FN), Feb. 11 — In a follow-up to his increasing communications with the people especially though social networks over the last five and six months, Prime Minister Hun Sen on Feb.11, called on Internet service providers to expand their service outreach as far as to remote areas so that those people would be able to get access to especially electronic information easily.

Speaking during the inauguration of a university in Tbong Khmum provice, (over 200km southeast of Phnom Penh), that is named after National Assembly President and Honorary President of the Cambodian People’s Party, Heng Samrin Tbong Khmum University, the premier once again tried to explain how effective use of Facebook is.

He could receive information or get to know about people’s grievances and then address them quickly and effectively with no need for the people to submit to him complaints in writing, nor motions anymore, the premier added.

However, the Prime Minister acknowledged that hurdles remain at certain places where Internet access is not available and as a result, residents in those areas are not able to get to Facebook while he could neither get his information out to them.

While he is currently in command of his social network communication using VoIP and Internet technology to solve problems for the people, the premier also called on all mobile-phone companies to expand the outreach of their Internet network as far as to remote areas with a view to providing people in those areas access to information either via telephone apps or Facebook.
