Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 10 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that the Royal Government consistently prioritises the supply of medicines, which is a key goal in ensuring the health of the people.

The premier spoke on Tuesday (Dec. 10) during a groundbreaking for the University of Health Sciences Hospital in Phnom Penh.

The seventh-mandate Royal Government is paying even greater attention to the supply of medicines, particularly ensuring their quality, quantity, and reasonable pricing for the people.

For several months, the Ministry of Health has been following the principles set by the Royal Government in line with this commitment to improve the accessibility and affordability of medicines.

On that occasion, Samdech Thipadei underlined that medicine is also a key factor in improving the health of the people. In recent years, the Royal Government has increased investment in the supply of medicines.

For the current mandate, Samdech Thipadei instructed Minister of Health Chheang Ra to prioritise ensuring quality, reasonable prices, and improvements in both the quality and quantity of medicines.

Samdech Thipadei underscored, "Efforts to focus on the supply of medicines aim to ensure quality, quantity, and improve the well-being of the people."

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet continued that the Ministry of Health has also implemented a system to provide medications to the people for periods ranging from five days to a month, facilitating access for those who must travel long distances to obtain their medicine.
