Doha (FN), Dec. 11 – Cambodian Senate President, Samdech Techo Hun Sen called for enhanced investment and trade ties between Cambodia and Qatar. The two key agreements under discussion are the Agreement on the Promotion and Protection of Investments and the Agreement on Economic, Trade, and Technical Cooperation.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen held bilateral talks with Sheikh Faisal Bin Thani Al-Thani, Minister of Economy and Commerce of Qatar and Chairman of Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investment, and Mohammed Al Sowaidi, CEO of the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), on 10 December 2024 in Doha, Qatar.
During the meeting, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his pleasure in meeting with the Qatari delegation to present Cambodia's economic and investment potential.
Samdech Techo underlined the opportunities available in Cambodia's agricultural sector, particularly in products including rice, cashews, cassava, and other crops, which hold significant export potential to Qatar and global markets.
Sheikh Faisal Bin Thani Al-Thani thanked Samdech Techo Hun Sen for sharing valuable information on Cambodia's economic and investment opportunities. He affirmed that both sides would work together to expedite the signing of the two agreements mentioned.
