Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 12 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said that the fight against human trafficking is not an isolated effort for Cambodia and requires collaboration with other countries, speaking on Thursday (Dec. 12) during the commemoration of the 12th National Day Against Human Trafficking, held at Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Centre, Phnom Penh.

“Cambodia cannot interfere in other countries, but Cambodia monitors its own situation and contributes to the global reduction [of trafficking]. We must continue to cooperate,” the premier underscored.

Samdech Thipadei mentioned that preventing human trafficking not only protects individuals and rescues victims, but also benefits the country and aids in reducing human trafficking worldwide, affecting people everywhere.

Furthermore, the kingdom has reiterated its strong commitment to combating all types of transnational crime, especially human trafficking. Cambodia is dedicated to enhancing prevention, cracking down on criminal activities, and upholding international standards to promote safety and human rights.

The Royal Government and its partners continue to work together to protect the safety and well-being of the Cambodian people and humanity in general, addressing human trafficking in all forms, across all ages, and in all places.

Through rigorous investigation, pursuit, and punishment of perpetrators exploiting labour, engaging in sexual exploitation, and committing related crimes, the premier expressed hope that friendly nations would join in these efforts. Samdech Thipadei called for mutual respect, collective action, and a united front against cross-border crimes that threaten the welfare of citizens everywhere.
