Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 16 – Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn underlined the importance of friendly relations and good cooperation between Cambodia and Iran, as he received a courtesy call by Ali Akbar Nazari, Iranian Ambassador to Cambodia with Residence in Hanoi, on 14 January 2024.

“Both sides took stock of the current state of bilateral relations and recalled the commemoration of the 30th Anniversary of Cambodia-Iran Diplomatic Relations in 2022. They discussed efforts to enhance economic ties through cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, health and energy, and welcomed the progress on finalising key agreements including the Reciprocal Promotion and Protection of Investments, the establishment of a Joint Economic Commission, and the MoU on Petroleum Cooperation,” according to the outcomes seen by Fresh News on Thursday (Jan. 16).

“Minister Prak Sokhonn and Ambassador Nazari also touched on regional and international cooperation, including under the framework of the ASEAN-Economic Cooperation Organisation.”
