Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 22 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call by Pakistani Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan on Tuesday (Jan. 21) at the Peace Palace.
During the meeting, Minister Jam Kamal Khan expressed satisfaction with the strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and Cambodia. He noted that these ties have facilitated enhanced cooperation across multiple sectors. The minister also shared that his visit to Cambodia, along with his delegation, provided valuable insights and revealed several similarities between Pakistan and Cambodia in various sectors.
The minister added that the primary purpose of his visit was to attend the inaugural Cambodia-Pakistan Joint Trade Committee Meeting, which aims to bring together business communities from both countries. He highlighted that the meeting would create more investment opportunities for entrepreneurs and strengthen economic cooperation.
For his part, Prime Minister Hun Manet commended the positive relationship between Cambodia and Pakistan, noting that the first Cambodia-Pakistan Joint Trade Committee Meeting marked significant progress in bilateral ties. He underlined that the meeting would not only boost investment opportunities but also foster collaboration in other potential sectors.
Samdech Thipadei also underscored the Royal Government's support and initiatives to ensure the success of the private sector in Cambodia, recognising its crucial role in driving economic growth and improving the living standards of the Cambodian people.
Both sides also discussed ways to promote, strengthen, and expand cooperation in key areas, including the economy, trade, investment, health, education, agriculture, technology, industry, tourism, and people-to-people connections.
