Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 2 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet noted that although the Cambodia-China Year of People-to-People Exchange 2024 has officially concluded, both nations will continue to promote cultural, traditional, and tourism exchanges.

The premier posted on his social media on Sunday (Mar. 2).

This ongoing cooperation will further strengthen friendship and enhance collaboration in the tourism and trade sectors between Cambodia and China.

In his post, Samdech Thipadei expressed his deep appreciation for the successful organisation of the Cambodia-China Year of People-to-People Exchange 2024 closing ceremony, which significantly contributed to strengthening people-to-people ties between the two nations. He highlighted that the event further showcased Cambodia’s culture, traditions, and tourism potential, fostering closer cooperation in tourism and trade.

Additionally, the prime minister underscored that the occasion reaffirmed Cambodia’s strong focus on the Chinese market as a key priority for the country’s tourism industry.

The closing ceremony of the Cambodia-China Year of People-to-People Exchange 2024 took place on 24 February 2025 in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, China. Deputy Prime Minister Sok Chenda Sophea, representing Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, chaired the event alongside Wang Xudong, China’s Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism. The ceremony was attended by Cambodian Minister of Tourism Huot Hak, Henan Provincial Governor Wang Kai, Wang Zhanying, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Propaganda Department, as well as senior officials and delegations from various ministries and institutions of both nations. Over 1,500 Chinese citizens also participated in the event.
