Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 6 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to strategically investing in a comprehensive physical infrastructure network, including expressways, deep-sea ports, international airports, and logistics hubs, to ensure seamless connectivity with ASEAN member states and other regions.
The premier spoke on Thursday (Mar. 6) during Cambodia-ASEAN Business Summit 2025, held at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra.
Samdech Thipadei underlined that recognising Cambodia’s crucial role in promoting regional prosperity, the Royal Government of Cambodia has actively fostered an investment-friendly environment through continuous improvements. To enhance connectivity in line with modern economic principles, Cambodia has been and continues to make strategic investments in vital infrastructure projects.
Samdech Thipadei underscored, “We believe in the power of progressive cooperation, utilising the ASEAN framework to drive prosperity and regional cohesion. Our commitment is evident through our active participation in strengthening regional security and economic growth.”
At the same time, the premier also highlighted Cambodia’s strong commitment to fair and transparent trade as a member of the World Trade Organisation (WTO). The country is striving to build a dynamic and integrated economic community through trade liberalisation and facilitation.
In close collaboration with ASEAN neighbours, Cambodia has been working diligently to remove and reduce trade barriers, streamline customs and business registration procedures, and establish a clear and transparent legal framework. Additionally, Cambodia is actively expanding market access through strategic free trade agreements (FTAs), ensuring preferential entry into the ASEAN market, as well as major global economies, including the European Union, the United States, China, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates.
