Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 5 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet instructed all relevant authorities to continue their efforts in combating and suppressing online scams, which remain a persistent issue in Cambodian society.
The premier spoke during the weekly plenary meeting on 4 April 2025 at the Peace Palace.
Samdech Thipadei expressed his sincere appreciation to all ministries, institutions, and law enforcement bodies involved—particularly the Ministry of Interior, the National Police, the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, and the Unified Command of the Capital and Provincial Administrations—for their hard work and the tangible results achieved so far.
Samdech Thipadei underlined that the Commission for Combating Online Scams serves as a complementary mechanism rather than a replacement for existing ones. It represents a collaborative effort among all stakeholders to continue working together to prevent and eliminate illegal activities and actors through a spirit of unity and cooperation.
It should be recalled that the Commission for Combating Online Scams was officially established on 20 February 2025 with Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet as its chairman.
