(Phnom Penh): Cambodian National Assembly and the Senate convened their first joint congress on Monday (Jun. 2) to deliberate on three key issues: the social protection system, the informal economy, and agriculture.

The congress was chaired by Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, and was attended by Samdech Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly; Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia; as well as members of the National Assembly, Senate, and the Royal Government.

This joint congress is scheduled to last two days, on June 2 and 3, 2025. Following its conclusion, Samdech Techo Hun Sen is expected to hold a press conference.

The key topics discussed—social protection, the informal economy, and agriculture—are high-priority policy agendas set by the 7th mandate of the Royal Government. These initiatives are aimed at improving the living standards of the Cambodian people.
