(Phnom Penh): After successfully leading a high-level Cambodian delegation back to Cambodia on Thursday morning (Jun. 12), Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet released a short video highlighting his personal engagement with several Cambodian nationals residing and working in Nice, France, during his recent mission from 9-11 June 2025.

Responding to concerns raised by Cambodians in France regarding the ongoing border issue, the prime minister assured, “The Royal Government remains firmly committed to safeguarding our territorial integrity without compromise. We are working to resolve the issue peacefully through diplomatic means, in order to prevent war and to protect the nation’s interests and the wellbeing of our people.”

The video, posted by the prime minister, was accompanied by the following caption:

“Before returning to Cambodia, my wife and I had the opportunity to enjoy dinner at a Khmer restaurant run by our fellow Cambodians in Nice. Afterwards, we met and greeted some Cambodian nationals living and working in the city.

Although time constraints meant I could not meet all Cambodians residing in Nice, I was delighted to have had the chance to connect with many of our compatriots. I also wish to extend my heartfelt thanks for the warm welcome shown to me, my wife, and my delegation by uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters, and younger relatives.

No matter how far our people may live from their homeland, their hearts remain closely connected to it. They urged me to do all I can to continue developing our country and to ensure that war never returns, especially as they closely follow developments and express concern about the escalating border issue.

I assured them that the Royal Government is unwavering in its commitment to defend the territorial integrity of our nation, and is actively pursuing all peaceful means of resolution, to avoid conflict and safeguard our national and public interests.”
