(Phnom Penh): On 7 July 2025, US President Donald Trump announced new retaliatory tariffs on 14 countries. The highest tariffs target Myanmar and Laos at 40%, followed by Cambodia and Thailand at 36%, Bangladesh and Serbia at 35%, and Indonesia at 32%. Bosnia and Herzegovina and South Africa face 30% tariffs, while Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Tunisia, and Kazakhstan each face a 25% rate.

According to the White House, the new tariff rates will officially take effect on 1 August 2025.
