(Phnom Penh): Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, sent a five-point message to the Thai side in response to unfounded accusations against Cambodia, related to issues such as interference in Thailand’s internal politics, landmines, and threats of unilateral measures in disputed areas.

Samdech Thipadei wrote on his social media on Tuesday (Jul. 22) as follows:

“Recently, I have observed that some Thai political leaders, the military, and media outlets have made baseless accusations against Cambodia concerning issues such as interference in Thailand’s internal politics, landmines, and threats of unilateral actions in disputed areas, including the Emerald Triangle area and the Ta Moan Thom Temple, among others.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of National Defence, and other relevant Cambodian institutions have actively responded to these accusations to protect the integrity of Cambodia, and they are prepared to implement additional necessary measures to safeguard Cambodia’s national interests.

I find it unnecessary to make extensive remarks, but I would like to send a brief five-point reminder to the Thai side as follows:

1. In areas or locations under dispute or where sovereignty has not been clearly defined, no party has the right to take unilateral action or impose unilateral measures. All actions must first have mutual agreement between both sides.

2. The red line remains a red line; it is not to be crossed. Please do not violate it.

3. Cambodia does not violate anyone, but Cambodia will not allow anyone to violate us either. Cambodia has sufficient capability and is fully prepared to defend itself and safeguard its territorial integrity by all means against any violations.

4. The method of accusing or blaming others is neither ethical nor honest. Such methods should not be used if we truly wish to build mutual trust.

5. Cambodia remains committed to seeking solutions to these issues through non-violent means, aiming for a quick, clear, and lasting resolution.”
