Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 2 – Sun Chanthol, Minister of Public Works and Transports stated on Tuesday that the transportation of passenger by waterway will be launched before Khmer New Year 2018 in April to ease traffic.

Sun Chanthol said that the waterway for transporting passenger which will be launched for the first time, started from Prek Pnov to Takhmao city and from Takhmao city to Phnom Penh and back to Prek Pnov.

According to Ministry of Public Works and Transports (MPWT), there are 15 ports, in which 13 ports are based in Phnom Penh and the other two in Kandal province.
